According to the UN, every year almost 5,000 cases are reported to have taken place on name of ‘saving family name’.  Out of them, 1000 are that of Indians.
While, bodies related to working in the respect state the figure as 20,000 annually. Taliban militants opine of harsh punishments for Pakistani and Afghanistan women, for their alleged disgraced doing.
The Saving Respect cases are not restricted to the happenings in India only. Instead, Pakistan, Afghanistan and Bangladesh are also victims of such cases. Practice of killing on account bringing disgrace to the family is common in less developed countries. Many of them are not aware with the perception of the concept.

To many of us, rape, child labor, murder, extortion, robbery, violence cases may sound to be more active actions in Pakistan. But, facts and figures present India to be the hub of the crimes.
Our media fails to undercover the local biased news items. While, India looks forward to its better recognition in other respects globally.
