Sharmila Farooqi, who now is a Politician of Pakistan and has also served as an advisor to the Chief Minister of Sindh from September 2008 to January 2011, was an actress at that time. Both Sharmila and her mother were arrested in charges that they were supporting Usman Farooqi in corruption.
According to news reports, after the arrest of both the ladies when their pictures appeared in newspapers, both Women Right organization and Muttahida Qaumi Movement were set on fire. On this occupation famous columnist of Pakistan Hassan Nisar also wrote a column naming it as “Nachti Sharmila”, “Blackmailer Sharmila”.
