Shahid Afridi’s sixes it seems didn’t just only mesmerize the Pakistani’s but it
got acclaimed internationally also. And although the local media may have
spent hours praising and blabbering the superb sixes of Afridi, none of
these could boost your glee than the praise of the internationally acclaimed
Swiss super tennis star, Roger Federer!
Yes fans! Roger Federer texted Aisam-ul-Haq praising Afridi saying that “No finer sight in cricket
history than this boom boom blazing sixes”. It seems Afridi entertained Roger Federer too through
his daring innings.
Afridi took charge of the innings when 9 runs were required of four balls. R. Ashwin had bowled
excellently throughout the innings, but he was also unable to keep Afridi from swinging his bat for
a six, as the Indian players helplessly saw the ball whoosh away over extra cover.
With 3 needed of 3 balls, Afridi was again determined to hammer Ashwin out if the ground again.
The Pakistani innings were ended splendidly with another sixer over long-on, which did seem
miscued at that time, but the mere force of Afridi’s will carried the ball over the rope, sending the
